Lansdowne is a neighborhood in the south area of Lexington, KY that is located just inside New Circle Road between Tates Creek and Nicholasville Roads in the 40502 zip code. Development of this community was begun in the 1960’s and 1970’s.

The Lansdowne neighborhood provides easy access to the University of Kentucky, downtown Lexington, New Circle Road, and Interstate 64 and Interstate 75. Bluegrass Field is a short ride away and makes national and international air travel a comfortable task.

Lansdowne residents can attend some of the best schools Lexington has to offer. The area is within the districts of Lansdowne and Glendover Elementary Schools, Morton Middle School, Lafayette and Henry Clay High Schools. Several private pre-school and school options are located within the district including St. Michael’s and Community Montessori.

Streets are generally low traffic and safe for walking and biking. The neighborhood is near the UK/LFUCG Arboretum for easy access to biking and jogging trails. Zandale Park is a quiet neighborhood park to picnic or play fetch with dogs. Additionally, the Signature Club sits in the middle of the neighborhood and provides memberships for access to a beautiful pool, fitness facility, ballroom and restaurant.

In addition to schools, there are also a number of churches convenient to the Lansdowne neighborhood. Crestwood Christian Church and St. Michael’s Episcopal Church are located on Bellefonte Drive. Tates Creek Christian Church, Immanuel Baptist Church, and Centenary United Methodist Church are just outside the neighborhood on Tates Creek Road.

We also enjoy frequenting area restaurants. The Cellar is located at the Signature Club on Lansdowne Drive. Take a right on Tates Creek Road for a short ride down to the Lansdowne Shoppes and enjoy the fare and spirits at Sal’s, Malone’s, Drake’s and Harry’s. At the intersection of Malabu and Tates Creek Road continue across Tates Creek for a memorable evening in the dining room or on the patio at the Merrick Inn.
